BEST WAYS RELIEVE STRESS – Energy of Breathing

WP_000484 In the last post, I talked about the key to finding your flow which lies in meditation. So I would like to pick up the final thought: focused breathing. In the end it’s one of the best ways to relieve stress at work as well as at home, wherever you are. The reason for that lies in the direct access to your autonomic nervous system, especially the vagus which regulates the balance in your body and psyche. You’ll find more on my website in the days to come.

Breathing exercise

I just would like to give you one simple exercise. Take a breath 6 x per minute, i.e. 10 seconds per breath, disposed as follows:
1 – 4 breathe in
5 – 8 breathe out
9 – 10 pause

To begin with take a deep breath, then while inhaling you take in everything you need, whereas exhaling you let go of everything which doesn’t belong to you. Finally – enjoy yourself coming to the center!

I’m interested in what you think and what works with you. So please feel free to leave a comment, thanks.

Hi Stefan, Meditation and relaxation are things that I have always found difficult to do because my mind wanders. However, these breathing exercises do have a lovely calming effect.

After a really stressful day I tried it out and it does make you feel better about the world around and also made me realise that the stresses I had has passed and that this present moment is a different time.

I suppose what I am saying is that I just allowed myself to let everything go and not focus on unimportant things that have passed. It does feel wonderful

I will certainly keep practising :).

    Thank you.

    • Hey Lis,

thank you so much for sharing! Once you’ve started, you’ll be able to calm down quicker and easier. When you’re meditating think of your thoughts and feelings as clouds in the sky. Let them fly by. Letting go really is essential.

In the future I’ll write more on this topic.

      Take care, Stefan
